At the November 8, 2017 Royal Pelican board meeting we discussed the fact that many items were blown around the Royal Pelican campus during hurricane Irma. This created a safety issue and could have caused more serious property damage.
Examples of such are:
Propane tanks that were not attached to grills
Tables and chairs
Glass top from a table
Various other items that were not securely stored in parking areas
Our first step to rectify this problem is to ask you to voluntarily remove the items listed above from your parking area. Within the next 2/3 weeks we will be reviewing the compliance with this request and moving forward with required changes if necessary.
We are also asking owners with kayaks and/or paddle boards who are dock owners to work with the boating association to move those items to your dock. For those of us with kayaks and/or paddle boards who are not dock owners, we are forming a group to see if we can come up with a potential solution to solve this problem.
We have a responsibility to make sure that potential hazards do not exist in our community.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
