The following was posted on each Bldg Bulletin Board approx. 10 days ago. Here are answers to questions I fielded.
1. Why is turf above present grass – answer what was used to fill the holes will pack down and the turf will actually slowly breakdown itself. So in time it will be level with rest of grounds. If it was installed level with the ground you would have ended up with the hole inches below the ground, a tripping hazard.
2. Isn’t it the responsibility of the installer to water the newly installed turf. Contracts are agreed to by both boards approving the work and contracts signed. It is our responsibility. If it is wanted , in this case Stokes, to come out and water each day I am sure they would sent an employee. However at a guesstimate of $80 to $120 an hour. Multiply that by 3 hours(it took me 3.25 hours to water all of it), then multiply it by 30 to 60 days…..I am sure you will agree we don’t need that expense….they other option is to turn on the sprinkler or have Steve spent 3 hours watering of his maintenance day
3. I also want to give a shout out and kudos to building residents who have and are participating in watering our browned turf, participants hav done a tremendous job! Can’t say enough good things!

HELP NEEDED

Over $3500 was spent by RP Condo Association and RP Boating Association to fill sinkholes along our Seawall. The purpose of filling these is part of our preventative maintenance to extend the life of our Seawalls.
The sinkholes were filled and turf was placed on top. Unfortunately, we haven’t had rain and as you notice the turf that was placed has been browning out. Grass is capable of coming back during extreme heat, grass will also spread itself. However, when turf is laid it is imperative that it is irrigated so it “takes”, if not it not only browns out but will die.

HELP NEEDED – WHERE YOU COME IN

These turf spots need watering! Looking for 1 or several individuals in each of our 9 buildings to take time and water these turf spots. After a week please walk on turf so it settles. It is recommended that you water early in the morning and in the evening each day. There are plenty of hoses on the docks available to use for watering. Its assumed dock owners will allow you to use their hoses. If you don’t know the dock owner and feel you need contact information and wish to ask them permission feel free to contact me and I will give you their contact info.
