(This is a copy of an email sent to RP Owners on July 29, 2020)

Dear Royal Pelican Owners,

We trust this email finds you and your family well. While the country, in general, and Florida, in particular, are still consumed with Covid 19, summer projects at RP have progressed nicely. The comprehensive lobby renovation project looks terrific. Please see the attached photos to get a feel for the clean, contemporary look of the lobbies with new doors and windows, new floors (lobbies & elevators), freshly painted walls, and new emergency lighting. The investment appears to be paying off. As soon as all the painting is complete, we plan to replace the lobby bulletin boards.

In the words of one longtime owner, “… the floor, walls and believe it or not, the ugly creepy elevator interiors look better. It is a wonderful improvement. The area is brighter, cleaner, and appears larger. I like the wall color and it is a nice contrast with the floor, while picking up one of the tones. A Win Win !!”

Now it is time to move to the next and hopefully final step of the lobby upgrade project. The board wants the owners to take responsibility for developing criteria for lobby furnishings, wall hangings (art, clocks, mirrors) & window treatments (if any).

Here is what the board proposes:
•Establish a lobby decor committee composed of one representative from each building.
•Reach out to each building representative to see who will represent their building, should the building representative choose not to participate. Building reps will select their replacements.
•Start the process electronically beginning in August.
•Rich George has volunteered to facilitate.
•The building owners are free to put the original furniture back in place, in the interim, until the committee makes its recommendations.
•Until the decor committee finalizes their recommendations for wall hangings (art, clocks, mirrors) window treatments, etc., please DO NOT put anything on walls or add window treatments.

he flooring, painted walls and new windows look terrific. We do not want to be patching and repainting walls. Let’s allow the committee to do its work.

Thank you.

Stay safe.

RP Board of Directors
